Here's what some of our club members have had to say
"Dave's kickboxing class varies every week from circuits to pad work and whilst it challenges your fitness it remains fun. Having tried a few other classes I found Dave's approach much more relaxed yet it holds the structure needed to allow you to push yourself. I joined 18 months ago to improve my overall fitness whilst learning some self defence techniques - I certainly feel fitter, more toned and have achieved a few belts along the way. A great all round work out and a pretty good stress reliever from work too!" Gemma
"I had previously participated in a couple of kickboxing club around the Leeds area, and at these clubs I never felt really comfortable until I joined EKA. It is without doubt the most friendly club I joined, I felt welcomes and not daunted by the pupils and instructor. I joined the club to keep up my fitness and to learn a form of martial arts. The classes I attend are a constant mix and no two classes are the same. This in itself keeps the interest alive and the grading gives you a focus and a goal to work towards. The workouts are given by our instructor Dave, who is a highly achieved third dan black belt including a degree in sport, health, exercise and nutrition, and you have a guy who really knows his stuff. If anyone is wanting to join the most friendly and professional kickboxing academy in Leeds then this is for you!" James
"As our third kickboxing club I have been part of, the Elemental Fitness club has the best atmosphere, best instructor, best kit, and has progressed my fitness and skills the most! The training sessions are varied and seem to include members of all levels. There is also the chance to see yourself improve by getting belts and feedback. If you like a challenge, it;s definately worth a try!" Becky
"Elemental Kickboxing Academy has reignited my passion for martial arts. The club has given me clear goals to achieve within a friendly and constructive enviroment. I am able to work on my style and technique at a high level, lead by the clubs instructor whose team spirit and leadership should be admired. Whether you're new to Martial Arts or getting back into it, this club is for you." Richard
Since joining the Elemental kickboxing club I have gained a level of fitness that I have not been able to achieve since my school days. The lessons have increased my physical fitness and body conditioning and given me more self-confidence. I have been attending lessons since March 2010 mainly twice a week, at present I am red belt and looking forward to grading for my green belt soon. I joined the club to improve my fitness and learn new skills but I wasn’t anticipating how much I would enjoy it. I have made lots of new friends and the club atmosphere is great and we often socialize outside of the club. We have a great mixture of lessons to work on our techniques, sparring and fitness and two lessons are never the same. The level of teaching is brilliant and you really do get pushed to improve your performance, while also been offered help and feedback on areas you can improve" Nicky
“I have been a member of the Club since January 2009 and have enjoyed being a part of the club immensely. The club has a great atmosphere, the members are friendly and always ready to help each other no matter their experience level. The lessons are always varied and this keeps them interesting and fun whilst providing the opportunity to learn something new every time. There is no pressure from the instructor or other members to do anything you don't feel comfortable with, so whether you are looking to get fitter whilst learning some self-defence or you want to train for competition this is the club for you!!” Ian
“My main reason for initially joining was for general fitness, to get rid of that gut, but you're also learning a skill as well that's useful for protecting yourself if the situation arises... and the belts give you something to work towards & help give you that drive to keep improving. The lessons are always kept interesting by rotating through different styles of training / aspects of martial arts, eg circuit one week, then ab work, cardio, sparring, or team races, with focus on improving techniques / stamina / concentration / confidence. There’s a good friendly vibe amongst members making it easier to enjoy training, everyone encourages everyone to move forward & we manage to have a laugh as well - a winning combo.” Grant
"I use to train with David a few years ago at an older club, but sadly had to stop for a while; I wanted to get back into kickboxing and heard he had his own club. I went and the environment is very friendly and all are welcome and the other members are great. I would recommend elemental kickboxing as David’s lessons are never the same and are varied from cardio and toning to pad work and sparing, as well as other activities involving fitness and self defence, all round good kickboxing training and looking forward to progression in this practice of martial arts with this club and David’s tuition” Chris
